Postdoctoral Associate

We are seeking postdocs that have expertise/interest in the following projects:

1.     RNA biology – projects in the lab include RNA trafficking (intra- and inter-cellular).

2.     RNA-protein interactions – we are interested in small non-coding RNAs that are encapsulated by Arc capsids and other Gag-like genes.

3.     Synaptic engram – we have new molecular tools to interrogate the synaptic basis of learning and memory. In vivo imaging and optogenetic expertise would especially be useful for this project.

4.     The role of the 3D genome in memory – Projects are in collaboration with Dr. Jennifer Cremins. In vivo imaging, mouse behavior, and optogenetic expertise would especially be useful for this project.

Lab technician

We are seeking a lab tech to help with generating primary cultured neurons from mice and rats. Some experience with tissue culture and molecular techniques would be ideal. The lab provides a very good training environment for those seeking entry into graduate programs and you will be exposed to a variety of neuroscience/cell biology techniques and methodology.

There is a growing and vibrant neuroscience community at the University of Utah, with an excellent quality of life. Nestled in the Wasatch mountains, Salt Lake City offers both cultural (Sundance Film festival) and outdoor recreation (over 5 world class ski resorts with 30 minutes) activities.
